【IELTS勉強法】Writing Task 2 タイプ別テンプレート

はじめに

「Writing Task 2って、どう書くのがいいの？」

250語以上で意見を論理的に展開する必要があるTask 2。実際に書こうとすると、構成や主張の文章量に戸惑う人も多いのではないでしょうか。

私自身、初めてIELTSを受けたときのWritingスコアは 5.5。

うまく主張が伝えられず悔しい思いをし、そこから3か月間対策を行いました。

再受験では Writing 6.5（+1.0）を達成し、Overallも7.0に！

この記事では、私が実際に使っていたテンプレートを問題タイプ別に紹介します。

① 意見論述型

• To what extent do you agree or disagree?
  
• Do you agree or disagree?
  

特徴：

はっきりと賛成 / 反対の立場を取り、その理由を2つ程度論理的に展開していきます。

パラグラフ構成概要

1. Introduction
   
   　・問題文のパラフレーズ＋立場の明示(理由①②もつける)
   
2. Body Paragraph 1
   
   　・理由①の説明と補足・具体例
   
3. Body Paragraph 2
   
   　・理由②の説明と補足・具体例
   
4. Conclusion
   
   　・主張の再提示
   

テンプレート

• Introduction

It is often argued that (問題文パラフレーズ).
I strongly agree/disagree with this opinion as[because] (理由①) and (理由②).

• Body①

One of the main reasons is that (理由①).
(理由の補足文章).
For instance, (具体例).

• Body②

Another compelling reason is that (理由②).
Additionally, (理由の補足文章).
One good illustration is that (具体例).

• Conclusion

In conclusion, I completely agree/disagree that (問題文パラフレーズ).
This is because  (理由①) and (理由②).

To sum up, these reasons and evidences presented above support my position that  (問題文パラフレーズ).

② 議論俯瞰型

• Discuss both views and give your own opinion
  

特徴：

両方の立場に触れたうえで、自分の意見を述べます。バランスが求められるタイプです。

パラグラフ構成概要

1. Introduction
   
   　・問題のパラフレーズ＋エッセイの概要説明
   
2. Body Paragraph 1
   
   　・意見Aの説明と理由
   
3. Body Paragraph 2
   
   　・意見Bの説明と理由

テンプレート

• Introduction

Some people believe that (意見A), whereas others argue that (意見B).
This essay will discuss the two opposing views, and I will present my own opinion on the matter.

• Body①

On one side of this argument, there are some people who claim that (意見A).
The main reason is that (理由A①).
[ Additionally, 追加や補足].
It also can be said that  (理由A②).
For instance, (具体例).

• Body②

On the other hand, others argue that (意見B).
People have this opinion because (理由B①).
Another reason is that (理由B②).
One good illustration is that (具体例).

• Conclusion

In conclusion, while both views have merit, I firmly believe that (立場表明).
This is because that (支持する側の利点等をまとめる).

③ 複数質問型

• What are the problems and how can they be solved?
  
• What are the causes and solutions?
  

特徴：

原因や問題点を述べたあと、それに対する解決策を展開していきます。(そのほかの問題内容もあります)

パラグラフ構成概要

1. Introduction
   
   　・パラフレーズ＋全体構成の提示
   
2. Body Paragraph 1
   
   　・問題点または原因の提示
   
3. Body Paragraph 2
   
   　・解決策の提示
   
4. Conclusion
   
   　・全体のまとめ [＋α 前向きな締め]
   

テンプレート

• Introduction

(問題文パラフレーズ).
This essay will outline the main problems and suggest some effective solutions.
[This essay will explore the reasons why forthcoming changes are positive and further impacts on our society.]

• Body Problem / Cause

There are two primary problems.
One major issue[cause] is that (問題・原因①).
This leads to (問題・理由である理由).
Another problem[factor] is  (問題・原因②).
One good illustration is that (具体例).

• Body Solution

One effective way to solve this is (解決策/意見①).
By implementing these measures, we can expect (解決策でもたらされるもの/支持理由)
Moreover,  (解決策/意見②).
It plays a crucial role as (効果の発揮内容).

• Conclusion

In conclusion, although the issue of … is serious, it can be tackled with practical solutions such as …
[With the cooperation of all stakeholders, this problem can be significantly mitigated.]

Task 2のテンプレートはあくまで「骨組み」ですが、私自身、毎回少しずつ表現を変えたり、パラグラフ構成を調整していました。

その中で自分なりの書きやすい型が固まっていき、本番でもスムーズに書けるようになったと感じています。
